OUTPATIENT - OP – PHYSICAL THERAPY ASSISTANT - PTA

Tri-State Rehabilitation is seeking Full-time/Permanent, Contract, and Part-time Physical Therapy Assistants for an Outpatient clinic.


The Physical Therapy Assistants deliver treatments and provide care for patients in an Outpatient site, under a care plan established by, and under the supervision of, a Licensed Physical Therapist. Based on this assessment and evaluation by the Physical Therapist, the PTA performs interventions aimed at improving and enhancing the patient's well-being and evaluates the patient's progress.

Job Responsibilities
• Assists in screening and initial evaluation of all patients.
• Provides direct patient care services to outpatient patients to ensure the effectiveness of Therapy programs that have been delegated by Physical Therapist.
• Follows the Plan of Care and performs therapeutic interventions as directed by the Physical Therapist.
• Follows and utilizes correct modalities of treatment and suggests variations to written protocol as approved by Physical Therapist, as appropriate.
• Provides leadership skills sufficient to effectively direct and supervise the activities aides and students in delivering quality care to patients.
• Consistently reviews and modifies goals with the patient and Physical Therapist.
• Identifies and prioritizes issues accurately. Develops courses of action with input of Physical Therapist. Effectively executes action plans.
• Demonstrates knowledge of Physical Therapy procedures and equipment providing for safety and maximum patient benefit.
• Keeps Physical Therapist and Rehab Manager informed in a timely manner.
• Performs and prioritizes multiple functions or tasks to effectively deal with multiple changes based on patient need and scheduling.
• Prepares and submits legible, relevant and sufficient documentation - whether written or electronic - of treatment and skilled intervention provided, as well as report of a patient’s progress toward goals in accordance with professional standards of practice, policy and procedures, and other requirements.
• Participates in staff conferences and committees as necessary.
• Provides in-service education as requested by the Physical Therapist, Director or Rehab Manager.
• Participates in quality and performance improvement measures
• Complete other assignments as requested and assigned.

Job Requirements

• Must be a graduate of an accredited and APTA approved Physical Therapy Assistant educational program.
• Must have a valid state license to practice as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
• Current Driver's License and vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle.
• Current CPR certification required.
