Job Description

Tri-State Rehabilitation is seeking Full-time/Permanent, Contract, and Part-time Speech Language Pathologists for an Outpatient clinic.


The Speech Language Pathologist Speech provides services that include an initial screening for communication and swallowing disorders and continue with assessment and diagnosis, consultation for the provision of advice regarding management, intervention and treatment, and provision counseling and other follow up services for these disorders. They assess the cognitive areas of communication, speech, language, swallowing, voice, and sensory awareness related to communication.

Job Responsibilities
• Improves the function of patients with speech, language, voice and/or swallowing impairments by planning treatment; conducting remedial programs.
• Visually and aurally observes and assesses the patient.
• Enhances speech pathology reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
• Assesses changes in the patient’s status and determine whether the treatment options should be modified, performing a re-evaluation and obtaining revision orders as indicated.
• Coordinates with participating members of the health care team, the patient, and the family/caregivers regarding progress toward goals.
• Performs and prioritizes multiple functions or tasks to effectively deal with multiple changes based on patient need and scheduling.
• Prepares and submits legible, relevant and sufficient documentation - whether written or electronic - of treatment and skilled intervention provided, as well as report of a patient’s progress toward goals in accordance with professional standards of practice, policy and procedures, and other requirements.
• Participates in staff conferences and committees as necessary.
• Provides in-service education as requested by Director or Rehab Manager.
• Participates in quality and performance improvement measures.
• Complete other assignments as requested and assigned.

Job Requirements

• Master’s degree from an accredited educational program
• Current State licensure.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association or Currently in clinical fellowship year prior to being granted a CCC.
